When does Spring begin?

In Meteorological Terms, the first day of Spring is on 1st March throughout the Northern Hemisphere.

However, as determined by the Astronomical Calendar, the Spring Equinox occurs between 19th and 21st March every year. At the Spring Equinox, days are close to 12 hours long with the length of the day increasing as the season progresses.

In Springtime, the axis of the Earth increases its tilt toward the Sun and the length of daylight rapidly increases for the relevant hemisphere which begins to warm significantly initiating new plant growth.
